Arsya Giri: Fashion Designer
At Marsyangde, sustainability and heritage are the foundation of our design philosophy. Inspired by Nepal’s Marsyangdi River, our brand reflects a commitment to conserving cultural and natural heritage. By adopting eco-friendly practices such as upcycling and wool cut waste management, we minimize fabric waste while creating timeless investment pieces that transcend fleeting trends. Versatility defines our designs, with detachable and reversible garments offering multiple styling options. Through made-to-measure and made-to-order production, we reduce excess inventory and prioritize eco-friendly fabrics like bamboo and hemp alongside upcycled materials. Marsyangde combines elegance with environmental consciousness, elevating both personal style and environmental impact.
In promoting Nepali cultural heritage and sustainability, Marsyangde taps into the growing demand for eco-conscious fashion. Participating in Mumbai Fashion Week 2023, we showcased innovative designs rooted in Nepali craftsmanship, with pattern-cutting techniques and a unique cultural narrative captivating audiences. Our brand name, inspired by Nepal’s iconic Marsyangdi River, represents our mission to spread awareness of heritage and sustainability through fashion.
Runway shows play a pivotal role in redefining sustainable luxury. Marsyangde advocates for exclusivity, focusing on selective, high-quality events that highlight craftsmanship and prevent overproduction. By upcycling runway excess into limited-edition collections, we balance creativity and sustainability while preserving traditional techniques. Runway shows also serve as powerful storytelling platforms, using theatrical elements to convey urgent messages of conservation.
For Marsyangde, Deepika Padukone embodies the values of empowerment and resilience. Her journey as a self-made woman aligns with our mission to inspire confidence and celebrate individuality, making her an ideal representation of our brand.
